Fruit and Veg 29 Feb 04

I enjoy painting fruit and veg because:-

• They have nice shapes and colours
• You can easily set them up almost anywhere and leave them for several days. Don't leave them too long or they'll rot.
• They don't complain when you don't get a perfect likeness.

I quite like the look of text in some pictures. There are some Picasso's which use bits of news paper headlines. The text catches your eye right away and provides focus. It is interesting that most Japanese pictures and prints have writing on them.
